Voluntourism Webcast
March 19th, 2008 by Rich
Last night I took part in a 4 way webcast hosted by Volutourism’s David Clemmons. For an hour, I along with the other members (see below) discussed the concept of Voluntourism (see my previous post on the topic here), the benefits of voluntourism to local communities, what makes a program good/ bad, and how companies can use offsite volunteer activities to build capacity.
Guests included:Â Richard Brubaker, of Hands On Shanghai [Bio]; Donnell Ocker, of The Whole Planet Foundation [Bio]; Sarah Siddiqi, of Experience Bangladesh [Bio]; Michael Strong, of FLOW Idealism [Bio].
Over all it was a very interesting hour, and you can download the cast here or listen online
