The Role of Additives in China
July 25th, 2008 by Rich
As a kid, my mom proved her progressive nature when I was 3 years old by putting me on the Feingold diet. Apparently my attention deficit disorder and allergies were too much for her (or me) and drastic measures were needed.
For 3 years I was on essentially an organic (fun free) diet where anything with preservatives, coloring, or refined sugars was removed from my diet (go ahead, take a look in your cabinets to see what you would have to toss out).
25 years later, I can report that while I still have ADD… I am alergy free, I rarely get sick, and when I do get sick I get well within 3 days.
so, when I see now that researchers in the UK are now starting looking at Banning Food Colorants As ADHD Cause, I thought it was worth exploring the role of additives and coloring in China.
There is a lot of discussion on obesity in China, a lot of discussing on the role of fast food in China, but is there any research on the role of food additives, coloring, and preservative diets?
I have seen fat camps as one alternative, but what progressive diets exist in China?
